Genesis 1:28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
Emphasis on the word them. Them does not mean him. It means men and women.
Judges 4:4, 5:7 Deborah, the wife of Lappidoth, was a prophet who was judging Israel at that time… There were few people left in the villages of Israel—until Deborah arose as a mother for Israel.
Deborah was wife, prophet and judge. God needed her to arise. The nation was counting on her. He needs you, too.
Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.
Sometimes I get the feeling Christians would like women to be virtuous but not capable. God’s design is she be both.
Luke 1:30 “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God!”
Woman, you have found favour with God – regardless of what others say, think or attempt to impose on you.
Mark 16:5-7 When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body. Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died.”
The most important message the world has known was first delivered to women – the message of Christ’s resurrection. What women have to say matters. It’s important. It counts.
Acts 2:17-18 ‘In the last days,’ God says,’I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike—and they will prophesy.’
Daughters, this is your day to prophesy. Speak life words over your friends and colleagues.
Titus 2:4 These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children.
Women have a duty to teach, train, mentor and lead others.
Galatians 3:28-29 There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.
There is no longer male or female. Women are heirs to all the promises of Abraham including the promise of headship (Deuteronomy 28:13).
Rachel Held Evans said, “Unfortunately, when it comes to womanhood, many Christians tend to read the rest of scripture through the lens of 1 Timothy 2:11-15 rather than the other way around.”
It is so true. We forget Esther, Mary, Huldah, Junia, Phoebe, and Priscilla were all prominent, God-and-community-endorsed leaders of their time.
Don’t shy away from your God-given calling because someone is not comfortable with it.
You are a leader.
