Flourish at Work

Genesis 39:5 From the day Joseph was put in charge of his master’s household and property, the Lord began to bless Potiphar’s household for Joseph’s sake. All his household affairs ran smoothly, and his crops and livestock flourished.

Stuck in the daily grind. Working nine to five. Mondayitis. TGIF. Living for the weekend. That is the secular view of work. Toil. Stress. Chucking sickies, and disrespecting the boss.

According to the Word of God, life is for flourishing in your work place. Joseph had a dream. He believed he was destined for greatness. Called to lead. Created to be the head, not the tail. But Joseph was not always in a position of leadership. He was a slave, even a prisoner. Yet through it all he flourished, and caused his employer to flourish.

Your current work situation may be anything but ideal. And like Joseph, you may dream of working for yourself, or being in a more influential position. Don’t give up hope. It will happen in God’s time. Meanwhile, flourish in your current role. Cause your workplace to excel. Make your boss look good. Flourish.

The Lord desires to bless you. Don’t conform to the patterns of the world, doing enough just to get by. Go over and above. Maintain a positive attitude. God will bless your employer for your sake. He will allow your projects to flourish. And He will see your dreams fulfilled.

Be amazing.
