The news hit me like a punch in the gut. My best friend’s marriage was over. Arguments, adultery, and time in the armed forces drove a wedge in their relationship. Apparently things had been bad for a while. I had no idea. My best friend, and I had no idea. I was in the dark.
At some point in life I am sure you have felt the same – the feeling of being in the dark. Where it seems everyone else knows what is going on, but you are naive.
Perhaps your Christian walk feels as though you are in the dark. Oh, you believe God knows what is going on, yet you are clueless. (Hallway, anyone?)
Let’s get some things straight about God: He does not want to keep us in the dark. It does not line up with His character. He is revealer of things hidden.
John 12:46 I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark.
How do you find a way out of the dark?
Trust who He is. Trust He is good, He rewards, He reveals.
And once you trust, ask.
James 1:5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
Ask God for light in your situation. Ask Him for the next step. It may be small; it may be something you won’t want to do. But as you act, the cloud will lift, and the light will shine brighter.
I am praying for you. Praying you will no longer remain in the dark. Praying for light to shine. Reach out to this community. I would love to hear from you.
