I am willing #FMF

Mark 1:40-41 A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said. Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!”

This passage in Mark 1 is one of my favourite in the Bible. We read about a leper. A man with an incurable condition. A dirty condition, that made him an outcast.

But he heard about Jesus. He heard that He was a miracle-worker. What the leper did not know was would Jesus heal him? Or was the leper too great a disgrace to deserve healing.

“I am willing.”

Jesus was willing. Not only was Jesus healer, He was merciful and compassionate.

Jesus accepts you and I just as we are. He is not disgusted by our personal “leprosy.” More importantly, He is willing to take our heart, and bring healing, when we ask.

How do these two verses speak to you?
