Light has Come

John 1:9 The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

Well at least in my home. It is our tradition to erect the Christmas tree on the first weekend of November. So our tree is up and we are officially allowed to listen to Christmas carols and watch Christmas movies. We don’t have Thanksgiving in Australia, and my family jumps right in to celebrate Jesus.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

Sometimes it is easy to view all the things wrong in the world. The fighting. The rage. The injustice. The pain. The darkness.

But Light has come. We celebrate light coming into the world at Christmas. Matthew and Luke’s Biblical accounts give literal representations of Christ’s birth, but John’s record is more abstract. Jesus, life and light, came into the world.

Today, I want you to be aware of the Light. As I said, it is easy to be overwhelmed by darkness, but the Light has come. He has come into the world and shines through you.

Arise. Shine. For your Light has come (Isaiah 60:1).
Indeed, He has.

Where did you see the light of Jesus shining in your world today? I’d love to hear from you.
