Nothing can quench love

Song of Songs 8:7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man would offer all the goods of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned and despised.

Love conquers all. It really does. I used to think this verse a lovely metaphor read, but in past years I have seen it to be true. Floods swept through communities of my city and destroyed belongings, but love remained. People who were not affected came out in gumboots to help those in need. Nothing in this world can stop love.

Love is not a wimpy emotion. It is an immense force. It is a weapon. Love is strong. It will hold on and hold out. Love will last forever and is the greatest of all. When all else is lost, there is love. You cannot be bankrupt as long as you have love. Try and grasp the enormity of love; you can’t. Love is power, it can move mountains.

What are you facing today? Song of Songs 8:7 is not just a nice sentiment, it is truth. If you are challenged with the enormity of a flood, the shaking of an earthquake, the winds of a hurricane; tackle it with love. Love is worth more than the contents of your home and the assets you have amassed. Love is your trump card. It beats everything. So use it.

Fall in love; you can’t drown. Be amazing.
