Psalm 91:13 You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet.
From the moment my first born cried for breath he has been a target. Most recently he broke his arm requiring hospitalisation and operations. On holiday. At Hong Kong Disneyland. My husband and I had been planning the family vacation for over a year. Our happy memories were stolen.
I have an aversion to relive the situation, yet another part of me wants to return to Hong Kong. To the place of anguish. As victors. And stomp on the devil. He cannot steal for me or my family. He is under our feet.
The moment sin entered the world, God had a plan to eradicate it. The Son would come and crush the snake. If you have seen the film Passion of the Christ, you will recall the opening scene. Jesus is praying in the garden of Gethsemane and a snake slithers across His path. Jesus crushes the snake with His heel. It sets the tone for the remainder of the film. A tone of victory and triumph.
The snake has been crushed and taken captive. In Christ, we too are triumphant. We walk in a triumphant procession with Jesus, Satan caged at the rear. He is under our feet.
Sickness, financial hardship, addiction, pain, relationship breeakdown, cannot hold you down. The enemy has been defeated. He has no right in your life. Or mine. Jesus crushed the devil with His heel. He is imprisioned, humiliated, and unable it torment you. Satan is under our feet.
