We cry holy, holy, holy
We cry holy is Your name
– Hillsong Music, Mountain
I recall a conversation with a friend at university. She told me she would rather go to hell because all her friends would be there (except me, of course). With sadness I responded, “Hell will not be painful because of the fire. The greatest pain will come from experiencing Jesus, and then eternal separation.”
“But I don’t know Jesus. How will I miss Him?”
“You will, because the Bible says every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus Christ is Lord.”
Mountain is a prayer. A prayer culminating in worship. A fitting end to our Mountain meditations – holy is the Lord. We welcome the earth home for one purpose: to sing holy. Worship is the created purpose of every human being. And one day, all the earth will bow to the glory of His name.
Revelation 4:8 Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying,
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”
This is why we climb the mountain. To cry holy to the King.
My friend did not give her life to Jesus the day of our conversation. I can only believe His Word will not return void and that one day she will be in heaven singing, “Holy, holy, holy is Your name.” But right now, you and I have the privilege.
Lord of all, we worship You, and You alone, with everything. Holy is Your name.
